Stand Up For What Matters

Dear Community,

This Saturday, January 10th, at 11:00 a.m., we invite each of you to join us at the corner of Corporate Boulevard and Jefferson Highway for a peaceful gathering in solidarity. Today, January 7th, 2026, in Minnesota, a 37-year-old American citizen named Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by an ICE officer.

Moments like this test who we are as a society. When acts of violence and injustice occur, silence and inaction allow them to fade into the background—until they become routine. We cannot allow tragedies like this to go unnoticed or to become America’s new normal.

Now more than ever, it is essential to show up, to stand together, and to make it clear that we reject violence, injustice, and indifference. Our presence sends a powerful message: that lives matter, that accountability matters, and that we will not turn away when it is time to do the right thing. This is OUR MORAL MOMENT.

This is not about politics—it is about humanity. It is about honoring those murdered, kidnapped, or deported without due process, supporting those affected, and reaffirming our commitment to a society rooted in dignity, justice, and compassion. ICE is dangerous for all our communities and should be abolished.

Please make it a priority to join Indivisible Baton Rouge this Saturday, January 10th. Stand with your neighbors. Stand for what is right. Together, our voices and our presence can make a difference.

Sincerely,

Indivisible Baton Rouge Leadership
